Revolution of 1821

The Revolution of 1821 was led by a servant to the court, Tudor from Vladimirii Gorjului, hence his name Vladimirescu. Coming from a region of peasants, he gained military experience by volunteering in the Russian army in the war from 1806-1812, his merits being acknowledged by the Russians by awarding him with the cross of Saint Vladimir.

The pieces displayed will try to catch the personality of Tudor Vladimirescu, and representative pieces of the revolutionary movement from the first half of the XIX century will also be displayed: the revolutionary flag (copy), a waist inkpot that belonged to Tudor Vladimirescu, a cartridge box, the sword of Iancu Jianu, pistols, corn for gun powder.
